CAIR Spent $160,000 to Silence Savage New book Reveals
Memos Behind Campaign to Run Radio Star Off the Air

Michael Savage
An explosive new book based on a daring six-month undercover operation exposing the subversive agenda of the Council on American-Islamic Relations reveals the Muslim group spent $160,000 in an unsuccessful effort to run top-rated nationally syndicated radio host Michael Savage off the air.

Internal CAIR documents uncovered in "Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That's Conspiring to Islamize America" show that despite its high cost and the continued success of Savage's show, CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad believed the campaign was "worth every penny," because, he says, the radio star lost at least $1 million in advertising
.
Authors P. David Gaubatz and Paul Sperry recount how CAIR ran out of money before it could crack Savage's most loyal sponsors.

As WND reported, Savage sued CAIR in December 2007, two months after the Muslim lobby group began urging "people of all faiths" to contact Savage's advertisers to protest "anti-Muslim bigotry" on the air. CAIR cited Savage calling the Quran "a throwback document" and "a book of hate" and demanding CAIR be thrown out of the country for promulgating it.

Savage's copyright infringement and RICO lawsuit alleged CAIR illegally published singled-out quotes and audio excerpts from the show regarding Islam, misappropriated his words and used the clips for its own fundraising purposes, damaging the value of his copyrighted material. Judge Susan Illston of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California dismissed the case, determining CAIR had a legal right to use excerpts of a public broadcast for purposes of comment and criticism. But Illston ruled in Savage's favor when CAIR attempted to extract attorneys fees. Savage declared Illston's November 2008 decision a "huge victory for me, personally, but also for the rest of America who is afraid of this lawsuit-happy group of intimidators."

In their new book, Gaubatz, a counter-terrorism investigator and former federal agent with vast experience in the Middle East, and Sperry, a veteran reporter on the war on terror and author of "Infiltration," document CAIR's role as a U.S. front for the Muslim Brotherhood's plan to transform America into an Islamic nation under the authority of the Quran.

In a chapter titled "Blackmailing Corporate America," the authors show how CAIR tries to intimidate major corporations and media figures, such as Savage.

An internal memo – one of thousands of pages extracted by Gaubatz's son Chris, who posed as a Muslim convert and became a CAIR intern for six months – showed CAIR considered broadening its campaign against Savage.

The effort against the talk-radio star included formation of a nonprofit called Hate Hurts America, which published on its website lists of advertisers along with contact information.

A CAIR staffer wrote in an internal memo that the "idea behind Hate Hurts America is great and has the potential to go far. However, I feel that if you want to continue with HHA and not lose momentum, the campaign needs to expand beyond Michael Savage to other bigoted talk show hosts."

The report noted that it's much easier to get the attention of large corporations rather than small firms or franchises, because large corporations like AT&T have a reputation at stake and "don't want to be associated with anything that might seem controversial."

The CAIR memo said, however, companies that are endorsed or directly promoted by Savage on the air, such as Life Lock or Swiss America, are "an absolute no" for targeting.

"They are loyal to Savage and there is a chance they might sue," the memo said.

False figure

As WND reported, the British government apparently seized on campaigns against Savage by CAIR and others when it used his name to provide "balance" to a "least wanted list" dominated by Muslim extremists. Savage's ban from entry to the U.K. prompted an invitation from the Cambridge Union to debate political correctness via a video link, but the society canceled his appearance, scheduled for tomorrow, citing "legal issues" among other problems.

The chapter in "Muslim Mafia" covering Savage's ordeal with CAIR also shows how the Islamic group has tried to intimidate Hollywood and companies such as Nike, Bank of America and US Airways by citing a false figure of 7 million American Muslims who are ready and willing to boycott their services.

Despite widespread use of the figure in media, propagated by CAIR and others, the Pew Research Center recently estimated the American-Muslim population to be only about 2.35 million.

The book also reveals CAIR recently has teamed up with the American Civil Liberties Union to consolidate resources on

As a fundraising drive a nonprofit sets up a raffle that promise to pay the winner of a drawing $1000 per year for 10 years. The organization will sell an unlimited number of $1.00 tickets and draw one winning ticket from all tickets sold. If the first payout begins one year from the date of drawing, how many tickets must be sold to break even ? Suppose instead that the first payout occurs on the day of the drawing, how will this change your answer ?

I think I heard from soneone that I have to use the PV formula used in finance. Can anyone please help me with this question?

I'm a 25 year old female. So much of the career advice I keep reading says that I should have a solid goal in my mind of where I want to be in ten years, or twenty even. My question is, do I seriously need to have a concrete plan in my head that I try to follow in order to be successful? I have a lot of different interests. Currently, the directions I could go are:
-Non profit Director of Marketing
-Non profit Director of Fundraising
-Entrepreneur-Event Planner
-Music Teacher
-Executive Sales Manager

I also have a strong interest in the performing arts, and would love to perform on the side. I also got married a month ago, so raising children will have to fit into the mix somewhere...

Can't my goal be something like, "I will go towards my nonprofit goals until 5 years. During that time, if I am not making at least $100,000, I will go into the private sector and go into sales."

Or is this just bad bad bad? Should I make up my mind and have a concrete vision NOW?

I work for a small arts company right now and make about $28k as an assistant. I don't want to stay in this job much longer and am wondering where to go next. What percentage of jobs in nonprofit make over $100k? I'm thinking about going into fundraising or marketing as a director.

GOP hints Dems would deny Republicans health care
From Associated Press
August 28, 2009 1:42 PM EDT
WASHINGTON - The Republican national party has mailed a fundraising appeal suggesting Democrats might use an overhaul of the health care system to deny medical treatment to Republicans.

A questionnaire accompanying the appeal says the government could check voting registration records, "prompting fears that GOP voters might be discriminated against for medical treatment in a Democrat-imposed health care rationing system."

It asks, "Does this possibility concern you?"

Katie Wright, a spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee, said the question was "inartfully worded."

But she said people should worry because government officials would have access to personal financial and medical data.

"The RNC doesn't try to scare people," said Wright. "We're just trying to get the facts out on health care. And that's what we do every day."

Jon Vogel, executive director of the Democratic House campaign organization, called the GOP letter "shameless fear-mongering."

In a fundraising e-mail of his own seeking to raise $100,000 by Aug. 31, Vogel wrote the Republican accusation was "just a preview of the falsehoods, fabrications and outright lies Republicans will be pushing when Congress returns in September."

The allegation is the latest instance in which some critics of the health care effort have made inflammatory unfounded claims - such as conservatives who claimed the legislation would create "death panels" that they said could lead to euthanizing elderly people.

The suggestion that Republicans might not receive care is included in a "Future of American Health Care Survey" containing 13 questions, most of which are critical of the Democratic health care effort. The technique, referred to as a "push poll," is used often in political campaigns by both parties and is designed to spread negative information, not to sample public opinion.

Another question asks, "Do you believe it is justified to ration health care regardless of whether an individual has contributed to the cost of the treatment?"

The survey is accompanied by a two-page letter signed by Michael Steele, chairman of the national Republican party. The letter accuses Democrats of "moving swiftly to bring European-style socialized medicine here," but makes no mention of the possibility that Republicans might be denied coverage.

Wright did not immediately respond when asked who had crafted the wording of the survey questions, and which GOP officials had signed off on it.

The questionnaire was first reported by The Washington Independent, a progressive-leaning nonprofit news and politics Web site based in Washington.

My husband has a local partner of the Fuller Center for Housing -- basically it's like Habitat for Humanity but for house repairs, at least ours isn't building new houses at this time. We had not even started up really when a woman contacted us asking if we could fix her house. We saw the house and heard her story and said yes, we would fix her house. That was in December.

Because we were not even really an entity at that time, we couldn't raise funds the way we wanted to. It was April before we had our first ever fundraiser because it took a few months to get a board together. I had expected to make thousands. We made one thousand. Under normal circumstances, that's not bad for a first fundraiser, but this lady needs like $15000 in materials for her house. We are getting some materials donated and it's all volunteer labor, but we're still going to be putting out a lot for her house until she starts paying it back (because the homeowner pays back in affordable monthly payments.)

Because I suck at fundraising and didn't have her house ready, the lady got behind in her rent and was evicted from the place she was staying. We actually found out about a lot of problems this woman has after we had accepted her as a homeowner. We're not interested in being like Habitat and only accepting people who've never made a mistake into our program, because I don't think that's right, but now I find myself really going all out to solve this woman's problems.

Her baby is staying with her mom/baby's grandma out of town. The teenage daughter has softball so she can't stay with grandma. We offered to have her stay with us. The homeowner/mom seems almost glad to have a summer off from parenting as it will probably take us a couple of months to fix her gutted house.

Does it cause a conflict of interest as a nonprofit to go outside the nonprofit to help her out personally with money and a place for her daughter to stay? We're using our personal funds not the organization's funds. If she had told us about all these other financial problems in the first place, we might have handled things differently, though we would still have helped her, just with her house. We would have made it clear we have a single mission and can't solve all of her problems.

What do you think?
Sassy2 -- try to pay attention. She owns a house that was gutted that we are fixing for her. That is the mission of our organization. It's a global organization and it has a mission statement, but they allow local partners to be self-governing.

She was a tenant in her temporary housing, and a greedy church kicked her out for nonpayment of rent -- she got behind because she lost her job. She owns this house but it's completely gutted. She was fixing it up with her dad, but her dad died 2 years ago and it's just sat since then because she didn't have any help.

These other problems are a result of her having to pay rent while still paying taxes, mortgage, etc. on the house. That's not her fault so we're trying to help her with all of it.
501(c)3 status is about whether contributors can get a tax write off. What we get involved in is not relevant to the 501(c)3. We aren't spending contributors' money on the other things.
We're not mixing our funds with the corporation's money. We would never do that. We spent our own money and were its sole contributor until we got a board and had a fundraiser.
I think it's a bigger mistake to let someone be homeless when we have a housing organization than it is to worry about some dumb paperwork. The national org has the 501(c)3 and we're covered under their group so we're good there.
The child is a friend of my daughter now. We're taking her in outside of the nonprofit as a person like any other friend of my daughter's who stayed with us for the summer.
We're not mixing our funds with the corporation's money. We would never do that. We spent our own money and were its sole contributor until we got a board and had a fundraiser.
You nonprofit bureaucrats are really unkind. That's why most nonprofits are mired in politics and a sense of entitlement from its officers and board and fail to see their mission in helping others. Our org is a Christian organization. That means we find it unloving to let people go without.
Photo Student, thanks for at least being respectful. I just think it's kind of a waste to spend so much time and effort on fixing her home then letting her family be homeless.

I did some reading on the victim triangle. I guess I'm not seeing it. I don't see myself as ever acting like a victim. I do apologize if I came off as a martyr here. Seriously, I have no problem taking the daughter into our home. I just feel the homeowner is making some poor decisions and I really want to fix them before something bad happens to the whole family. She's been through so much -- domestic violence, her dad dying, addiction -- that I really don't want her to have any more problems.

National Press Release
Center for Consumer Freedom: Humane Society of the United States is Morally Compromised, Just Like Michael Vick

$200 million animal rights group raised money with false promise to care for Vick's dogs

WASHINGTON, May 20 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- As the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) prepares to kiss and make up with convicted dogfighter Michael Vick, the nonprofit Center for Consumer Freedom (CCF) is calling on the animal rights group to return the money it raised with the false promise that it would care for the dogs rescued from Vick's former home.

Beginning on July 18 -- the day after Vick's criminal indictment -- HSUS promised on its website that financial contributions would help it "care for the dogs seized in the Michael Vick case." The New York Times later reported that HSUS was not, in fact, caring for the animals. HSUS president Wayne Pacelle told the Times that his group is recommending that government officials "put down" (kill) the dogs rather than adopt them out to suitable homes.

After CCF publicized this deception, HSUS quietly altered its online fundraising pitch. And despite HSUS's stated desire to see the dogs killed, CNN reports that most of them are being successfully rehabilitated by genuine animal-rescue groups.

"Most Americans can't stand dogfighting," said CCF Director of Research David Martosko. "But they also can't stand phony fundraising claims. If HSUS keeps the money it raised by promising it would care for Michael Vick's dogs, the group is just as morally compromised as he is."

The Humane Society of the United States is not affiliated with any local "humane societies." The organization does not own or operate any hands-on dog or cat shelters in the U.S. Less than 4 percent of its budget in 2007 was passed through to legitimate pet shelters.

"HSUS knows that Americans are dog lovers, and it's exploiting their emotions to build a war chest for anti-meat, anti-dairy, and anti-medical-research campaigns," Martosko added. "HSUS should return every cent and apologize for misleading the public."

what do you think about this? Do you think the dogs should have been put down? should HSUS return the money?

* If one nonprofit org wants to raise money to donate to another nonprofit org is it considered third-party fundraising?*
I am wanting to do a benefit for an org and was told that it would be considered a third-party activity. It seems to me that there are many drawbacks to this type of fundraising so I have been presenting my idea to other nonprofit orgs hoping to do the event with them. There are two nps that are intersted in "incubating" my project.
When you are in a third-party fundraising situation it seems impossible to do so many things. You cannot take any donations where the donor gets any tax consideration (infact in some situations you cannot use the word "donation"). If I am understanding the third-party event approval sheet that I have, then .............aaacckkk!!! This question has so many different aspects to it that I could write an essay.
More to the point - I want to do a benefit trail ride to generate awareness and contributions for this organization. I am pledging to ride 500+ miles over a 2 month period. I know many people, businesses, and organizations to approach for donations. I have many fund generating ideas and fun activities to do along the way. It would be me by myself but I will invite saddle clubs to ride along with me 10 or 15 miles having their own trail ride event and donating the money. That is one example of the things I can do during the 500 miles.
I am trying to figure out the best way to do this project. I want the donors to have as many of the same considerations as those who donate to other things. Most donations could be made out to the org and that would take care of the tax situation. I'm wondering about the donations for goods and services for items and expenses incurred by the event.
Does anybody out there understand what I'm trying to figure out? I would be so grateful for any advice.

My husband had his license suspended for failure to pay speeding tickets. We've been out of work and just had trouble paying them. Today he drove our daughter to school then came back home. A half hour later, the sheriff knocks on our door, says he's seen husband driving and wonders what's up. He was up front and admitted to driving while suspended. The sheriff has taken him to jail.

The ONLY problem with this is that TONIGHT we have a major fundraising dinner and auction for our nonprofit housing ministry that helps homeowners that can't repair their homes. It was started by the people who started Habitat for Humanity and decided to go on their own in 2004. We're a local partner of this great organization and tonight is our whole life! It decides whether we can continue! If it was ANY OTHER DAY we'd take our lumps but TODAY we cannot spare our executive director.

We also can't let the community and board know what's going on. I am not sure if I have enough money to bail him out. He sees a judge today, the sheriff "thinks." I have not had a license in six years because of an accident at that time which, didn't seriously injure anyone but still bothers me as to how it could have turned out. And the cop who handled that accident and cited me only for running a stop sign died a couple of months later. I could have a license if I paid my fines but with the money we're putting into this ministry we don't really have that going for us either.

Would it be to our advantage to go down to the courthouse when I find out the court time and beg the judge to just let him out this time???
Thanks to all who answered! The judge let him go as he was already doing community service!!! Yay!
Thanks especially to Fred P. We have been ignoring our financial obligations pursuing our passions -- and our passions ARE for the good of others, but this was a definite wake up call that we need to take care of our own obligations first and we are working on making some changes. For the record, I have not been driving -- I get rides or walk or hitchhike.

i really need a good name for my nonprofit organization. its mission is 1.The vision of the Humanitarian Organization Worldwide (HOW) is to spread awareness of the violations of human rights across the world and to:
a.provide relief in monetary aid to affected persons within poverty-stricken or war-afflicted nations;
b.provide assistance to all nations with a specific emphasis upon the Philippines and Zimbabwe;
2.Further, to benefit its clients by building character within its participants through fundraising activities within the community, and,
3.Operating upon the values of altruism, integrity, and activism, to:
a.Make a difference in the school, community, and world;
b.Benefit both benefactors and beneficiaries in terms of character development in the former and tangible relief to the latter;
4.Lastly, reaffirming that this nonprofit organization shall be looked upon as a source of monetary aid to international countries in need of financial assistance.
ps, it really needs to be creative!!

Hi all. I'm part of a nonprofit organization that's opening a Animal Sanctuary in NJ (seerfarms.org). We're helping families and their pets in times of crisis (military leave, hospitalization, divorce..etc). We're in the start up stages but have come across some opportunities to attend local fundraising/animal related events. I attended one of the events today but was unable to set up a table (rain and no tent not a good combo! but a good trial run) Anyway, I did see some people with some exhibits but wanted to get some feedback on good ideals to create one for our organization. I'd like to do something that can withstand changes for upcomming events/progress but also explain who we are and our goals. Does anyone have suggestions? examples of materials and or products I can use to create this display? Our newsletter is called "Tails from the Farm" so I'd like to keep that theme going along with our goals/events.

always something new with these two. I have no idea why Obama even considered this woman. And Bill is a just a hanger on as far as I can see. To think I almost liked the man at one time and that I felt sorry for Hilary.
What a mistake!
They both stink.
(Not just because of the money from foreigners but because everytime I see one or the other or both of them at the same time, I just feel creepy.

WASHINGTON – Former President Bill Clinton laid out a list of big-ticket donors to his foundation Thursday that is heavy with foreign governments and business interests sure to have a stake in the policies that Hillary Rodham Clinton carries out as secretary of state.

Saudi Arabia and other foreign governments gave at least $46 million, while corporate donors included the Blackwater security firm that protects U.S. diplomats in Iraq.

The contributions went to the William J. Clinton Foundation, a nonprofit created by the former president to finance his library in Little Rock, Ark., and charitable efforts to reduce poverty and treat AIDS. President-elect Barack Obama made Hillary Clinton's nomination as secretary of state contingent on her husband revealing the foundation's contributors, to avoid questions about potential conflicts of interest.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia gave $10 million to $25 million to the foundation, and other government donors included Norway, Kuwait, Qatar, Brunei, Oman, Italy and Jamaica. The Dutch national lottery gave $5 million to $10 million.

The Blackwater Training Center donated $10,001 to $25,000. The State Department will have to decide next year whether to renew Blackwater Worldwide's contract to protect U.S. diplomats in Iraq. Five Blackwater guards have been indicted by a U.S. grand jury on manslaughter and weapons charges stemming from a September 2007 firefight in Baghdad's Nisoor Square in which 17 Iraqis died.

The foundation disclosed the names of its 205,000 donors on a Web site Thursday, ending a decade of resistance to identifying the sources of its money. While the list is loaded with international business leaders and billionaires, some 12,000 donors gave $10 or less.

Clinton agreed to release the information after concerns emerged that his extensive international fundraising and business deals could conflict with America's interests if his wife became the nation's top diplomat. The foundation has insisted for years that it was under no legal obligation to identify its contributors, contending that many expected confidentiality when they donated.

The list also underscores ties between the Clintons and India, a connection that could complicate diplomatic perceptions of whether Hillary Clinton can be a neutral broker between India and neighboring Pakistan in a region where Obama will face an early test of his foreign policy leadership.

The former president did not release specific totals for each donor, providing only ranges of giving. Nor did he identify individual contributors' occupations or countries of residence.

Donors gave Clinton's foundation at least $492 million from its inception in 1997 through last year, according to the most recent figures available.

After negotiations with Obama's transition team, Clinton promised to reveal the contributors, submit future foundation activities and paid speeches to an ethics review, step away from the day-to-day operation of his annual charitable conference and inform the State Department about new sources of income and speeches.

Representatives of the foundation, including CEO Bruce Lindsay and attorney Cheryl Mills, and aides to Hillary Clinton met privately Wednesday with staff of incoming Foreign Relations Committee Chairman John Kerry of Massachusetts and ranking Republican Dick Lugar of Indiana to discuss the foundation's activities and review a memorandum of understanding drawn up by the Clinton and Obama teams.

The Foreign Relations Committee will hold hearings and vote on Hillary Clinton's nomination before sending it to the full Senate. Shortly after Obama tapped Clinton, Lugar said he would support her, though he said there would still be "legitimate questions" raised about the former president's extensive international involvement.

"I don't know how, given all of our ethics standards now, anyone quite measures up to this — who has such cosmic ties," Lugar said.

Some of the donors have extensive ties to Indian interests that could prove troubling to Pakistan. Tensions between the two nuclear nations are high since last month's deadly terrorist attacks in Mumbai.

Amar Singh, a donor in the $1 million to $5 million category, is an Indian politician who played host to Bill Clinton on a visit to India in 2005 and met Hillary Clinton in New York in September to discuss an India-U.S. civil nuclear agreement.
hey sillies on the right. I'm not democerat or conservative. I don't need a label. and I didn't write the entire article (to he who invited me to "get a life"). I wrote comments which took about 8 minutes.I do have a life. I just type fast. Very fast. I think fast also.
It took me just under 18 seconds to write this little tidbit.

Barack Obama helped secure a $25,000 grant for the Blue Gargoyle in August 2000, an organization that was headed by Capers C. Funnye, Jr., Michelle Obama’s first cousin once removed.

Obama as the Illinois Senator reportedly received a home loan of $1.32 million at a rate of 5.625 percent, although the average going rate on that day according to two different surveys was between 5.93 and 6 percent. Unlike what was reportedly available for the general consumer, this special below-market "super super jumbo" loan was secured without an origination fee or discount points. (Questions about the mortgage were first raised by The Washington Post.)

Barack Obama’s “squeaky clean” reputation is again being tarnished by shady entrepreneurs who have supported him financially, this time a convicted Iraqi billionaire who funneled millions to the Illinois senator in 2005.

A British newspaper has published a lengthy story on the scandal, which connects the Democratic presidential candidate and his indicted longtime Syrian financial supporter (currently on trial for corruption) with one of Britain’s richest people, a criminal Iraqi guru named Nadhmi Auchi.

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has blasted Hillary Clinton for withholding her First Lady records while he repeatedly ignores requests to release his own lengthy state legislative records.

Obama served eight years in the Illinois State Senate and several media outlets, as well as Judicial Watch, have tried through public requests to obtain his records to no avail.

The Illinois Office of the Secretary of State states it doesn’t have the senator’s records and that it has “received no requests from Senator Obama to archive any records formerly in his possession.”

In other words, Obama could easily make his state legislator records available to the public by having them archived but has chosen not to. Instead, he has offered several stories relating to the documents since announcing his presidential candidacy.

Barack Obama finally was forced to answer questions about his close ties to a domestic terrorist who planted bombs in the Capitol, Pentagon and other government buildings to protest U.S. policy.

During the nationally televised debate in Pennsylvania, Obama was cornered into addressing his decades-long relationship with William Ayers, a Vietnam-era radical and former fugitive from U.S. justice who has proudly admitted setting the bombs in the 1970s.

Ayers, a professor at a public university in Chicago, was a member of the domestic terrorist group Weather Underground and he has publicly said that he doesn’t regret setting the bombs and that his violent group actually “didn’t do enough.” In fact, he still proudly sports a tattoo on his neck featuring the rainbow and lightning weatherman logo that appeared on letters taking responsibility for the bombings.

Ayers and his wife, a fellow Weather Underground terrorist, have long supported and collaborated with Obama, donating money to his campaign and hosting fundraising events at their home. The Democratic presidential candidate and aging radical hang out in the same political and social circles, live in the same Chicago neighborhood and for years served on the board of a Chicago nonprofit.

According the August 8 edition of The New York Times, Accountable America, a liberal group, plans to send a letter “to confront donors to conservative groups, hoping to create a chilling effect that will dry up contributions…The warning letter is intended as a first step, alerting donors who might be considering giving to right-wing groups to a variety of potential dangers, including legal trouble, public exposure and watchdog groups digging through their lives.

The group is also hoping to be able to respond if an outside conservative group broadcasts a television advertisement attacking Senator Barack Obama, or another Democratic candidate, by running commercials exposing the donors behind the advertisements.”

Attempts to intimidate individuals from participating in the presidential campaign can be a violation of federal law. A key federal civil rights law (42 U.S.C. § 1985(3)), popularly known as the Ku Klux Klan Act, may be applicable if “two or more persons conspire to prevent by force, intimidation, or threat, any citizen who is lawfully entitled to vote, from giving his support or advocacy in a legal manner, toward or in favor of the election of any lawfully qualified person as an elector for President or Vice President, or as a Member of Congress of the United States; or to injure any citizen in person or property on account of such support or advocacy.”

The chairman of an Islamic “charity” shut down by the U.S. government for funding Middle Eastern terrorists has dedicated himself to raising money for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

With his Ohio-based terrorist funding operation closed, Hatem El-Hady has committed to raising substantial funds for

There is a far-reaching scandal brewing for presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama, thanks to a radio talk show host based in Oregon. Syndicated talk show host Laurie Roth's revelations make the news story about Obama's relationship with a racist, anti-American pastor look like child's play.

A top official at the Pentagon during former-President George H. W. Bush's Administration and a former CIA intelligence officer maintain that Barack Obama and former Weather Underground honcho William Ayers funneled money to Professor Rashid Khalidi, a known terrorist sympathizer.

Khalidi serves on the faculty of Columbia University in New York and is best known as the professor who invited Iranian President Ahmedinejad to visit Columbia University after he finished his speech at the United Nations. According to confidential sources, Khalidi has direct ties to the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), a group on the US State Department's list of known terrorist groups.

"One source for this information was once a top military figure in the 1990s. He doesn't take making allegations lightly. If he says something happened, believe me, it happened," said syndicated radio talk show host Laurie Roth.

"Another source is a former agent for the Central Intelligence Agency, who is an expert in counterterrorism," said Roth, who broke the story on her show Friday night.

"I certainly don't want to demonize someone because they are a woman, black or liberal running for President. I love the idea that in our culture, a black and woman can now run. However, it does matter to me with any candidate, their consistency with good judgment, their voting record, their association with people with questionable backgrounds and commitment to our country," she said during her show. To listen to Laurie Roth's 3-21-08 show click here.

Here are the connections as described by very reliable sources, who possess impressive military, national security and intelligence backgrounds:

Allison Davis, who hired the young Obama into his small, Chicago law firm Davis, Miner, and Barnhill in 1993, left the firm in late 1999-2000 and became a housing developer. Davis went into business with Tony Rezko, the indicted businessman who's scheduled to go on trial for corruption in Illinois, and who was a major fundraiser for Obama.

Davis met Rezko when he was a client of Davis, Miner, and Barnhill. Rezko is currently under indictment in Illinois for demanding kickbacks from companies seeking state government business contracts under Governor Blagojevich. Obama was identified as one of the politicians cited in the indictment as having received political contributions from Rezko out of his kickback funds.

Tony Rezko hosted fundraising events for Obama in his home and was on Obama's US Senate campaign finance committee which collected $14 million for his campaign against conservative Alan Keyes, an African-American who served as an Ambassador during the Reagan Administration. In order to avoid a scandal during his presidential campaign, Obama returned $85,000 that Rezko and his family had donated to him.

In early 2000, while Obama served as a state senator in Illinois, he also sat on the board of the nonprofit Woods Fund. The Woods Fund is a Chicago-based foundation that claims its primary mission is to make financial grants in order to increase and/or create opportunities for disadvantaged people and low-income communities.

The chairman of the Woods fund board in 2000 was Howard Stanback, who like Obama also had connections to Davis, according to the reliable sources.

Davis submitted a grant request to the Woods Foundation for a $1 million investment in his development partnership, Neighborhood Rejuvenation LP, that would be used to finance low-income senior-citizen housing. Under normal circumstances, a board member is supposed to recuse himself or herself from decisions where they have a business or personal relationship.

Obama, who did not recuse himself, voted to approve Davis' grant request. Stanback, on the other hand, abstained from voting. The housing project, which also received a $5.7 million loan from the city of Chicago, in turn donated almost $70,000 in political contributions to Obama's presidential campaign.

In the past, Rezko gave Obama -- who served as an Illinois State Senator -- his first two political contributions in 1995, $1,000 each from two of his companies. In 1998, State Senator Obama wrote letters to city and state officials urging them to fund a Davis-Rezko housing project. It was an obvious quid pro quo arrangement.

Another major fundraiser for Obama is William Ayers, who also sat on the board of the Woods Fund with Obama and is a professor at the University of Chicago.

Bill Ayers, along with his wife Bernadine Dohrn, was an active member of the Weather Underground, a radical left-wing group that advocated vio
Ayers and Dohrn are known to have held at least one fundraiser for Barack Obama in their Chicago home.

During Obama's last year on the board of The Woods Fund (2002), he participated in awarding grants, including a $70,000 grant to the Arab American Action Network, a Chicago-based group founded by Rashid and Mona Khalidi.

In another suspected quid pro quo arrangement similar to those with Ayers and Rezko, Rashid Khalidi also held a fundraising event in his home for Barack Obama.

In the Middle East, Rashid Khalidi was known as a man to be reckoned with. From 1972 through 1983, Khalidi was the director in Beirut of the official Palestinian press agency, FAFA. His wife worked there as well.

According to sources, when the Khalidi's left Chicago for Columbia University in New York, Rashid was honored with the Edward Said Chair in Arab Studies at that Ivy League university. Their goodbye party in Chicago included testimonials from Bill Ayers and Barack Obama.
In a related story, during an interview on Thursday morning (March 20) with Black Panther leader Malik Zulu Shabazz, Fox News Channel viewers learned that Shabazz' group endorsed and supported Senator Barack Obama for President of the United States. Even on Fox -- an organization wrongly accused of being "conservative" -- the interviewers were careful in their questioning of Shabazz, a recognized racist and anti-American radical.

The New Black Panther Party leader proudly announced on Fox News that his organization endorsed Obama for President.

"While some people may say that Barack Obama has no control over who endorses him, he should have control over what endorsements are posted on his websites," said Laurie Roth, who, besides hosting a popular talk show, is a regular columnist for NewsWithViews.com
"The endorsement of the New Black Panther Party was posted on Barack Obama's website. Why was this tolerated unless Barack Obama wanted their endorsement? If he does not want their endorsement, how much control over his staff is he going to have once he's elected President?" asks Mike Baker.

The New Black Panther Party is openly anti-White, anti-Jewish, and anti-America. After Obama's Tuesday damage-control speech, his campaign pulled the Black Panthers' endorsement story off their website.

It's also been reported that Obama's campaign staff was allowed to fly a Che Guevara flag inside his office, according to NewsMax.
"Do these revelations demonstrate a pattern of Barack Obama's judgment? If so, then I do not want him dealing with world leaders. I do not want these groups having access to the White House. Do you?" asks the New Jersey-based political strategist.

"It appears the Barack Obama water carriers within the mainstream news media are on the job as usual -- ignoring another story that has the alternative media on the Internet buzzing: Obama's embracement of an endorsement by the radical, racist organization," Baker added.

Newsweek's Michael Isikoff filed this report on some of the more blatant, already-identified abuses by the Obama campaign. In the old days before he drank the Kool-Aid, I seem to recall Isikoff was the first to publish news of a transgression by a President and an intern...and we know how that turned out with the country embroiled in Impeachment hearings for months.

So now we've accounted for around sixty grand of Obama's treasure chest...all we need is to understand where the other two hundred plus million of dodgy money came from, and then we could be reasonably satisfied that Obama played it by the rules!

The Obama campaign has shattered all fund-raising records, raking in $458 million so far, with about half the bounty coming from donors who contribute $200 or less. Aides say that's an illustration of a truly democratic campaign. To critics, though, it can be an invitation for fraud and illegal foreign cash because donors giving individual sums of $200 or less don't have to be publicly reported. Consider the cases of Obama donors "Doodad Pro" of Nunda, N.Y., who gave $17,130, and "Good Will" of Austin, Texas, who gave more than $11,000—both in excess of the $2,300-per-person federal limit. In two recent letters to the Obama campaign, Federal Election Commission auditors flagged those (and other) donors and informed the campaign that the sums had to be returned. Neither name had ever been publicly reported because both individuals made online donations in $10 and $25 increments. "Good Will" listed his employer as "Loving" and his occupation as "You," while supplying as his address 1015 Norwood Park Boulevard, which is shared by the Austin nonprofit Goodwill Industries. Suzanha Burmeister, marketing director for Goodwill, said the group had "no clue" who the donor was. She added, however, that the group had received five puzzling thank-you letters from the Obama campaign this year, prompting it to send the campaign an e-mail in September pointing out the apparent fraudulent use of its name.

"Doodad Pro" listed no occupation or employer; the contributor's listed address is shared by Lloyd and Lynn's Liquor Store in Nunda. "I have never heard of such an individual," says Diane Beardsley, who works at the store and is the mother of one of the owners. "Nobody at this store has that much money to contribute." (She added that a Doodad's Boutique, located next door, had closed a year ago, before the donations were made.)

Obama spokesman Ben LaBolt said the campaign has no idea who the individuals are and has returned all the donations, using the credit-card numbers they gave to the campaign. (In a similar case earlier this year, the campaign returned $33,000 to two Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip who had bought T shirts in bulk from the campaign's online store. They had listed their address as "Ga.," which the campaign took to mean Georgia rather than Gaza.) "While no organization is completely protected from Internet fraud, we will continue to review our fund-raising procedures," LaBolt said. Some critics say the campaign hasn't done enough. This summer, watchdog groups asked both campaigns to share more information about its small donors. The McCain campaign agreed; the Obama campaign did not. "They could've done themselves a service" by heeding the suggestions, said Massie Ritsch of the Center for Responsive Politics.

Anyone think this is another smear?

We have one non profit organization. And we hope to do fundraising on the street. so what documents do we need apply for in the police office? can we just go with our nonprofit certificate ? Thank you

I'm looking for startup funds for a nonprofit organization, a seed grant. We have been operating without 501c3 status for about a year, but we now need to take the next step in order to obtain large grants and public donations. We have completed are currently working on several fundraising campaigns, but we are not gaining enough donations to cover our operational costs. We are looking for grants of $500 - $1000, but any amount will work. Please let us know of any possible sources of seed funding. For more info about our organization, please visit www.ecoactiononline.org.

i need ideas about how i can get a nonprofit organization financed (besides fundraising). we have a group project of creating an organization about an after school program, but i want to know how we can get help with the finances and any informations about how people can donate to our program.

Our nonprofit organization is doing a bit of fundraising for an event at the end of summer, and we need some sort of graphic like a thermometer to track our progress. We want to get people really excited about this event, and we feel that a thermometer would be kind of a buzz killer due to it's unoriginality hehe So, if you have any ideas on a more original tracking system, we would would definitely appreciate it = )

Thank you so much!

P.S. This is a youth program, and it would be great if the tracker could reflect that.

Does anyone know of effective strategies for fundraising or grant writing for a new nonprofit? What can be done to establish credibility?

A nonprofit 501c(3) would like to sell raffle tickets online to raise money for a new project see at freedomranchofmissouri.org
we want to set up a web site for fundraising where we would sell raffle tickets

Hello,
It may not be appropriate to ask for help here, but I am at the level where I feel like I am just throwing a bottle in the ocean to cry for help
Every place could be right if we can find the right person for what we are looking for
We need somebody that can help us start up a basic website. We just started a nonprofit foundation and have already IRS exempt status
Our budget is not limited, we don't have a budget. We are just starting everything from scratch. Therefore, the website will help us launch our first fundraising campaign. Even by mail people need to go back to our website as a reference
The foundation has a good cause and worthy of interest. It is about helping elderly people and those with mobility impairments
We need somebody that would be willing to donate some time to work on this project. If you are a student we would be able to produce letters for community service. Contact us at makethingseasy@gmail.com
Answer back to this blog if you are interested

I want to answer the question regarding fundraising ideas from the coolest person ever. I do not want to be accused of spamming. I have a website business that has a fundraising program built in to help 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organizations raise funds. Can I list it as a reply to the fundraising ideas submitted by the coolest person ever?

Assume that you are director of fundraising for a small nonprofit that is focused on a social issue. List three ways, using limited resource.

By "Development Officer", I mean someone who knows a whole lot about fundraising (aka development) - someone who can manage a substantial development campaign for an organization that fosters scientific research..

While we have always had donations, we now wish to raise approximately $9 million for our endowment to help ensure another 80 years of community service.

My degree was a Bachelor's of Science in Biology with a minor in English, but I ended up with a 10-year career in nonprofit writing and fundraising. For the past three years I've been able to work from home - I have two in elementary school. As a favor to some friends I became an editor for three (hobby industry) publishing companies and I LOVE it. Or I would, but even being an editor for three companies gave me one job this year.
How do I become an editor for other, more mainstream, companies? I'd love to do copyediting for scientific journals, magazines, or novels to begin with before moving up the editing ladder. My location is rural, so all my networking and work would need to be via Internet. Also, I've heard about editor certificates - but is that necessary given my experience? Or would graduate school be necessary or even helpful? Any help is greatly appreciated - I thank you in advance.

When is the best day of the week to hold a fundraising gala?
We are event planners - relatively new biz - and barring the obvious conflicts of other large events in the region etc., is there any any industry wisdom, best practices about when to hold a Gal -- it seems more and more nonprofits are chosing to avoid Saturday?!!

Before I get into my rant: would it be appropriate for me to write to professionals who have climbed the corporate ladder and ask for advice?

I asked my former college's career center, and I was turned away because I am no longer a student. Makes me proud to be an alum.

After a year of being a college grad and about 4 months of avid job searching, I've decided that I need to rethink my strategy.

When I graduated school, I thought I would just dive into nonprofit work with promotions and fundraising. Turns up that nonprofit work is tough to get into.

Now I've noticed that I'm deflated, even when I get a job offer, because I feel that I'm not going to get the job. In the end I am the one that dooms myself. And I hate that.

As a result, I feel like I need a new drive. For such a long time I was just kind, sweet me who just blew through life taking whatever life threw at her. Well now I'm ready to take control.
I graduated with a degree in communications; I graduated cu.m laude with distinction in 3 years. I worked my butt off and now I'm slacking?

Oh hell no.

I am seriously ready to dive in and climb the corporate ladder. Screw the "I'm changing my career" before I even GET a career. I'm ready to show the world what I made of.

----Rant over----

So....do you think I should do that? Just write a letter to these professionals and ask them for their stories?

There will be a fundraising event w artworks donated by the artists (USA) in abraod. The event will generate donations (foreign) through donations (USA) for a future nonprofit arts org. Do I have to report this income to IRS and pay tax? If so, how much will it be? Thanks.

I have a friend/hero who enjoyed hell so much, she's taking a second trip! cafepress dot com fwd slash helpshellyan

Anyhow, I'm doing the great friend thing and I've reserved a nice big boat, with fabulous food and entertainment, we've got items autographed from all over the sports world to auction off and we're setting sail in late October for the night of her LIFE!

I even have a guy at the newspaper to write an article to help us sell these tix. The print vendor is in line and EVERYBODY is donating their efforts!

Then it hit me,.will the feds haunt us in April? Can the already taxed out of pocket donations be subject to additional tax for a dinner auction fundraiser?

I read briefly about Non-Profit Orgs and whatnot but this seems like a ridiculous expectation if I'm doing this as a one night help a friend gesture.

But, I'd never forgive myself if we raised 40k that night and every penny got spent on her meds and the feds came knocking on her door for 10k in April?

I'm considering a degree in Nonprofit management with a fundraising certificate. I've always been fascinated with the concept of working in a non-profit, however, I don't really know what the day-to-day work load will be. Is it mostly a desk job or is it more of working with people? Is fundraising a hard job or can it be fun? Any info would help!

In term of doing any fundraising activities in the state of MA or within any state in the United States, can a nonprofit-- with all legal paperwork (bylaws, articles, 501c3) in its possession, except a certificate for solicitation--conduct any fundraising, seek any grants from sources? Please advise me at your convenient time.

Can I form a non-profit that promotes other non-profits unofficially? Me and my friends like a number of awareness campaigns and grassroots groups and so often promote more than one of them. Most of these groups have volunteers doing the awareness, so we wanted to be a group of volunteers.

I understand the rules of not fundraising under the guise of fundraising for any of the groups we are promoting, but we would like to start a nonprofit to be more organized and promote various good causes.

Anyone know the laws on this and what may be a better group to form?

I have a degree in Business Administration and a Master degree in Business Information Systems. I am looking to make a change into fundraising for a nonprofit. I don't really have any direct experience in fundraising and looking for advice how to transition into this new field. Specifically I am looking to start with a group in the Kansas City area.

Thanks.

I'm looking for free fundraising software for my nonprofit. What's available that's good?

Hi,

I'm planning to do a Dinner / Dance Fundraiser with a silent auction. It is for the CCFA, a nonprofit organization. I'm not sure where to start though. We don't have a lot of money to rent out a hall or book a caterer right away, we'd need to start fundraising and getting donations right off. Any ideas what I should do?

I sell fundraising materials to nonprofit organizations i.e. schools, churches, little leagues.
