Im getting dodge diesel for my 16th birthday and im already adding the AEM cold air intake system and a MBRP exhaust and a amsoil air filter. What else would be badass to give a little more juice thats not too expensive.

i've got a 2007 f150, 5.4 liter v8 with 4wd, roush supercharger, mbrp exhaust (yes, i know its for a diesel, but it has very hi flow), and a zex nitrous kit. what else can i do?
street racing truck... never lost to a chevy :)
puttin out around 450-500 hp, doin 125 shot of nitrous
i dont do the "legal'' drag racing, what i do is on the highway, always rolling start, usually around 45 start. yea, i dont juice it off the start, i build some revvs first, this way i dont spin. but no i havent got a new cam.
by the way, my truck isnt stripped out or shit like that, i use mine everyday.

i got 06 f250 i put an mbrp 4 inch turbo back exhaust on it. at the tailpipe it makes a jet engine sound. while idling. when i put load on it, it stops and sound like a normal exhaust. is it because theres no cat or muffler.?

i have an mbrp 4 inch full exhaust system but im lookin for more sound. and i heard that if i turned the glasspack around it will make it louder. but if not im not gunna go through the trouble of takin my exhaust apart.

I'm looking at doing intake and exhaust to my 2006 GMC sierra slt. the exhausts i have picked out is an MBRP 3.5" single and banks single. The intakes i have chosen are volant and banks(both are in-closed in the intake box) which combination do i go with? Which one would you choose?

I want my truck to sound loud, mean, and badass lol. I heard straight piping sounds awesome and it it makes the turbo whistle more. I was thinking of removing my muffler and cat replacing with a straight pipe and adding a MBRP 5" exhaust system

about how much hp will I gain from the new turbo?

cold air intake
scilencer ring off turbo

As many have probably learned, I am pretty new to the world of diesel performance, but I am hooked. I have been doing some research to try and make my Cummins diesel more reliable, but at the same time make more power. I have a 06 Cummins 610/48RE Automatic Transmission in my truck and have currently installed an AFE Stage 2 intake, ATS Arc Flow intake manifold and a 5 inch MBRP cat-back exhaust, the only electronic device I have installed is a Bully Dog Power Pup programmer set on "performance". I have a full set of ISSPRO trans/boost/pyrometer gauges. The real question I have is what do you think of this set-up, is there anything I have to worry about other than the transmission (currently being upgraded)? I am not running any higher boost levels than stock (30 PSI max). Any input would help...

I have a 2006 Ram 3500 dually, and I'm currently running the 5.9L 610 Cummins Diesel with a 48RE 4 speed automatic. I have a bully dog programmer, set on the lowest power level, an AFE stage 2 intake, ATS arc flow intake, and a 5 inch MBRP cat back exhaust. I'm now pretty much done upgrading the engine and I'm looking for some fairly easy upgrades to help my tranny handle this kind of power. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I really don't pull all that much with the truck, mainly just using it on road tooling around town and going on an occasional road trip. Once in a while I'll tow around a skid loader or a mini-excavator on a gooseneck...

Any suggestions other than use a "light foot" will help,

Thanks

look i've got this idea for my GTO it has a brand new LS1 in it and the original LS1 sitting in the garage the original owner was going to pull it apart and set it up for a twin turbo but money came short and sold everything to me.. i was thinking about building this LS1 back to stock trim with a few exceptions.. I've built a few LS motors but have some simple questions maybe a few of you could answer?

Instead of doing a undersquare 383 stroke which is a dead give that it's not stock i was thinking of getting a custom crank like 3.8" or 3.85" stroke to keep it oversquare.. and going with a light weight I beam rods, maybe a port and polish job on the heads, maybe higher compression pistons like 11:1.. maybe a new set of gears like 4.00s just a few odds and ends that will keep car looking and sounding stock.. i'm already in the process of removing the SLP loud mouth II exhaust because it got me 2 tickets in the first week of owning the vehicle.. i'll keep the slp intake.. anyone else got ideas to keeping the car looking and sounding stock but performing otherwise.. i'm thinking with tune and everything i could pick up atleast another 100 horsepower without anyone being the wiser

but to the main question how much does a custom crank cost.. i've heard it usually runs 300-700 on top of a regular crankshaft from the likes of lunati.. anyone have a better guess? also anyone have other ides as to adding power "secretly"?
also forgot to mention.. their isn't an off the shelf crankshaft that i want for my project
it's not a 350.. its a ls1 346ci.. it two has a 383 stroker that people do..
obviously no one can give me an answer.. just state other facts so please vote no answer.. and btw question is... HOW MUCH DOES A CUSTOM CRANK COST? but everyone wants to throw their 2 cents in otherwise

I'm looking for a custom exhaust for a 1985 k100rs, specifically one with two pipes, one on each side of the bike.
Does such a thing exist?
If so, what's a recommended set for the bike?
Thanks!

I have a 99 Crown vic, I plan on making a custom X-pipe setup, I think I'm going to use 2 1/4 stainless steel pipe from the cat back, to the X (it has H pipe stock) and then the dual back but I want to know what are the loudest mufflers I can Weld up to the tube. I'm also thinking about making the exhaust come out the sides.
I dont really care about legality.

what is the best time to shift to stay in the mazda rx8 power band when racing? cause i keep getting a 7.5 seconds for my 0 - 60 time, and 17 seconds for my 1/4 mile. im decent at driving a 6 speed, but my car stock is suppose to be able to do a 1/4 mile in about 15 seconds.

okay i got a 240sx and im buying a rb25det so what type of exhaust do i use one for the 240sx or does it have to be custom?

I have a zx7r and currently am running a custom exhaust set up, everything else is stock. I am thinking that it is running too lean. At idle, it kind of surges from about 1250-1500 rpm. I don't know if this is that big of a deal, I never noticed it before, but now I am paying extra attention. Also, when i am riding, especiallyy at low speeds, and pull the clutch in, it tends to stay at about 2000rpm for a few seconds and then go down to a normal of about 1500rpm.

Is it running too lean to hurt the engine? If it is, is there anyway to fix this without rejetting, because I don't have the money to have that done right now. Is there anyway I can adjust the carbs by screwing something in anyway to help with the issue? Would putting in a high flow air filter help any?
Also, it does not get hotter than it did before the exhaust, unless I am in city traffic. In city traffic, it gets hotter faster, but the fan kicks on and it never gets too hot.

my ford ranger has a loss of power like crazys when going up hills. its a 3.0 v6 auto. the exhaust is so- called "custom" and i think its what the problem is. has two cat-converters on it with straight pipe after that till it gets over the back axle and then they cut a hole in the side of the pipe and stuck another one in to make it dual.

we have a 14month old child and as for me i am feeling down why cause my customs are very much decreased. i am a house wife and i always cleaning and cleaning and at the end i am always exhausted and frustrated and then my husband and i always argue i do not like that. everytime when i explain to him that i need to do things that i enjoy besides housework, most of the time when i would go into stores or go out sit somewhere where i can relax it is impossible cause my son does not like to be one place.
i mostly love shopping and i was hoping it can come to me again i am really down and i do not know how else to explain to my husband. once or twice i was at a mall by myself just to have my time but before he dropped me of. he once said that i think that him and our child is baggage for me and that i do not want them around. what do you make of this.

i am not blaming it is just i would like if i can do things that i once enjoyed. i feel like a stone,

and please only serious answers ok
Recently i became more and more frustrated, my 14 month son was really trying my patience and i allowed my self to become overwhelm and started crying and i called my husband who is abroad and i told him that i am thinking of leaving , i am so exhausted and also i am totally out of energy. sometimes i finish my house work after 1 am next morning then when my son starts to give trouble everything just added up. then he mentioneto me if to ask our neighbour to look after him but i was in a state and i did not want any one knows what is going on
i have no energy and i started to cry i am totally exhausted and at times when my husband is abroad i finish housework after 1 am in the morning then again at 6 wake up. at times i though of leaving.

I have a 2004 Harley Road King Custom..... It has a 88 but I have changed the Air Cleaner to a Stage 1 already and I am now going to be putting on Thunder Header 2 into 1 Exhaust... But I want to put some CAMS in the Engine also.. .. Since I have to get it Dyno'd anyway when I put the Thunder Headers on.. I'd like to put some CAMS when I put the pipes.. and do everything at once.. I want more tourque for take off... so that I can wake the bike..

Thanks for the help.

So i recently just put on an aftermarket exhaust on my car, and the guy that put on my muffler said to leave on the silencer because it will get really loud. So i told him that, its what i wanted, a loud exhaust. So he said that over time the exhaust will get louder from the soot build up.

So will the exhaust get louder over time from just regular use?

how much for custom exhaust and a custom H pipe for a mustang v6 2000.
how much total.
thanks for u help.

I e-mailed the NSW RTA, and all i got back was a ridiculous quote from their site saying:
"The LAM scheme will allow novice riders to ride moderately powered motorcycles with an engine capacity up to and including 660ml and which do not exceed a power to weight ratio of 150 kilowatts per tonne and are shown on this list."

So by this logic, providing that my motorcycle does not exceed those numbers, i can install a turbo charger on my bike. That doesn't sound right to me.

Does anyone have an idea of what modifications i can perform on my bike while still keeping it Learner legal?

I want to purchase a cruiser and do the following modifications; change the rake, lower the bike, increase the rear tyre size, swap the fenders, install a custom exhaust, change the headlight, change the forks, custom handlebars and grips, and maybe depending on the bike install a turbo charger.

I have a thing for custom motorcycles, and this is as close as i can come to legally riding a custom motorcycle on my Learner & Provisional licence. Three years is too long to wait for a nice custom bike.

Please, no lectures of any kind. Especially about the turbo charger, i like to keep things legal, I'm not planning on being a reckless rider.
I have the cash flow & my father will be helping me with the modifications. If bikes can be built within weeks than i am sure i can modify a bike within a year.

I've seen a few people change the rake of their bike, and this is the first i have heard of needing an engineers report.

Sorry Aussie H.D. Rider, but your answer is not relevant to my question.

I have a 2004 Road King Custom and I want to change my exhaust system. Right not I have the stock cross over exhaust with Screaming eagle slip ons, I also have a stage 1 KIT wich is just a bigger Air Cleaner system to get more Air in.

I want the new exhaust system to be nice and Loud and give me more performance... I am thinking about ThunderHeader 2 into 1 with a false pipe.. but I hear they aren't the best in quality as far as the craftsmanship. I don't want to pay for a new exhaust system to have it only last a year and look like crap.

Anyone have any ideas.. remember I want them Loud enough so that cars here me when I a splitting lanes..

Also are 2 into 1's better then ..... True Duals...? Which should I get... I will likely be adding CAM's soon also.. since I have the Stage 1 and will be changing Exhaust too.. . Thanks everyone.

I recently bought a 2000 Mustang. The previous owner had to inspected. The mechanic (in a small town) mentioned an exhaust leak from the midpipe just below left exhaust manifold. Said he could patch it up real cheap. Didn't get it done because I'm replacing most of the exhaust system. Took my car in for an oil change today and (for the hell of it) asked Goodyear for a quote on fixing the exhaust leak. They came back saying $500 for parts and labor. Took the car over to the muffler shop to get a custom exhaust system put on. Mentioned the exhaust leak and the guy tells me if it actually is a leak in the exhaust manifold, he'll fix it for $50. If not, all the better. Ever get the feeling your normal mechanic might be taking advantage of you?

(I plan on going to college for something vehicle related but the reputation mechanics have is kind of scary. It's worse when you see the reputation become a reality.)
@Chrys: $275 for stock exhaust manihold + $225 for labor = $500. Yes, I'm well aware of what the costs were for.

@Ironball: I'm not worried about how long the patch will hold. In the spring I plan on looking into long tube headers. I'd rather spend a little to keep it running well through the winter than to pay all that for a new header only to pay more for different headers in 6 months.

I'm considering putting a custom exhaust on my 01 IS 300 and have narrowed it down to two potential choices.

1. APEXi N1
2. HKS Carbon-TI axle back

Which of the two has the best sound as well as any perfomance boosts it could offer. Thanks.

I recently got a 1990 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 as a gift. Everything in the engine is stock, the only custom part it has is custom exhaust system(not sure what) and rims and tires. I would drive like 40 miles a day everyday.

Now my question is, what are some thing that i should upgrade to make it more powerful or overall better

or what can i do to make it more fuel efficient. either works with me.
thanks
Its a V8, and i got like $500 spending money for the truck....thanks

Ok, I want to get a quotation for an exhaust system for a Subaru Impreza 2.5RS (2000-2008 models) I want to improve just how the car breathes and I want a low boxer rumble. I'm living in South Africa now and I may be getting a Subie in 2 years time. I'm doing this so I can figure out an estimate of money to save for. Here's what I've thought of so far: Option #1 *Get Unequal length headers from a US WRX,* Leave the Cat and the Downpipe stock,*Change the backbox to a 10cm Diameter Muffler. Option #2 *Look for Unequal Length headers around S.A, *leave the Cat alone but get a custom downpipe and muffler. Option #3 * Get everything Custom Made. Option #4 You guys decide. I'm thinking of saving about R5000 (About US$500) or more but it could change. I'm only 16 now so I can't drive yet. All answers are welcome!

i have a jdm sr20 in it and a custom exhaust. im worried that it might not pass, and i really love my car.

Let's say im putting a custom exhaust on a Scion tC.

I've been thinking about buying a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS for sale in my town. It's got 120,000 miles on it and is posted at $4,500. It has got some upgrades on it, however it is not a street racing car because I know who the guy selling it is and he doesn't race it. Here is what is posted on the craigslist add and I was wondering what type of questions I should ask such as maintenance that has been done and etc on this model :

The guy at my local meineke was telling me that I should get a 3 inch cat back piping exhaust for my 99 corolla to go with my skunk2 muffler. He said its going to increase horsepower and itll make my car sound more "powerful".

Anywayz, I would like to know what you all think of that? Should I keep my stock piping with my skunk2 muffler or should I get the custom 3 inch cat back piping?

i dont know if i should put 91 in my gas, i put midgrade for a year now and i find im still wasting gas, i put 91 it feels like im wasting less gas but spending more money. now should i buy the fuel injector cleaner to improve gas milage? i put a custom exhaust on my car and now i regret it because every time i start the car a big chunk of gas burnsssss

i want to know if Those pipes have baffles i can take out or are they permanent. How much louder is the bike going to be with out baffle and is there performance gains thanks.

i want to buy a short 6 in flex pipe and custom make one what size is the pipe. / flex pipe should i buy)) also whered they move yahoo answers i dont see it on yahoo home page ???? i web searched to come up with answers page..

Keep in mind my budget is $20,000.

The car I'm 70% committed to buying is a 2005 Ford Mustang Convertible. It's has 56K miles, manual transmission and my budget allows me to install custom wheels and tires, air intake, exhaust, and twin turbo with custom interior.

However, I've been thinking about getting a luxury small sedan. Something like a BMW 335i, Acura TSX or TL, Lincoln Zephyr, or Mercury Milan.

Any opinion will totally help me out. Plus suggestions for other cars are always welcome. :]
Hey thanks a lot guys. I think I'm going to go for a more fuel efficient luxury sedan. And push my budget to $30K.

I am looking to put a new muffler on my subaru so that it will get that nice low boxer engine sound, and I don't have the money to put in a custom exhaust system. I was wondering if any muffler would give that sound or would it have to be a flow master or something like that. Thanks.

i cant find anyone who wants to do mine for under 700

Ok, So my straight exhaust is a 3" can i still use a 2.5 inch inlet size?

a pontiac grand prix with stock 3800 series 3.8 liter. cold air intake, wider intake/throttle body, ported supercharger, 2.9" pulley, intercooler, headers, custom computer, larger inecters, modified transmission, flowmaster exhaust system, rockers, lowered an inch and a half, high performance suspension assumably my friend says he has all that or my stock v8 Lexus sc 430
p.s. his is a yr 2003 while mine is a 09

what other parts could i add or change out on my 02 gt to get more power? I already have flowmaster exhaust, cats removed, bbk under drive pulleys, cold air intake, 75 mm bbk throttle body and plenum, custom tuner, and bbk shorty headers. what else could i do for less than 2 or 300?

I have a 1992 buickt century custom 3.3L V6. and i wanna have a little fun with it. i want to get a turbo kit on it and maybe a good exhaust.

i have never installed a turbo kit or exhaust but with directions im sure i can get it, i just need to know what kind of turbo i can put on there and exhaust. any ideas please?
lol idc about havign it long. im not trying to. i just wanna have fun with it lol. is it possible for me to get a turbo in it?

i just want to know how much headers and an exhaust would cost me for it. its just a 1992 3.0 v6 ford ranger custom. please help me out!

I have a custom exhaust on my '08 Dodge Charger that has a good pitch and which I really do like. However, the amount of sound coming out of the exhaust at crusing levels (1500-3000rpm) is a little too much. I'd like to reduce it by 1/3 to 1/2.
One option was replacing my stainless exhuast tips with ones that have resonators inside. Does anyone have any experience with this?
The muffler is a Cherry Bomb Pro Muffler - moderately high flow, deep sound. Basically straight pipes out of the muffler back. I would need to install a reso on each pipe if it were after the muffler.
I basically want to know if the resonator tips would change the dB level of the exhaust without changing the tone and pitch?

I need more power from my 95 s10 blazer, 4.3 vortec v6, 4 door, 4x4, have custom exhaust, over 300,00 km, auto. Only problem is im on a very tight budget, so i need the most power for the money.

I have a 1994 vw jetta vr6. Im going to straight pipe the exhaust from the cat back using only one muffler and some custom made tips. What would the best muffler to use that would make my car loud but hav a nice tone at the same time.
Thanks

I am struggling with the below question..
I believe I have some ideas.. please critic my approach
Any direction would be helpful

The question states as:
Suppose you are the accounting manager of a division of a large firm and your compensation is partly based on meetinga net income target.
In the current year it seems unlikely that your division will meet its target. You have some property, plant and equipment that have been idle for a while but have not yet written off. What incencentives do you have to write its value off during the current year and if you do write it off, how will it impact your future ability to meet the income targets for your divison?

My answer

There are a few scenarios to look at when approaching this question.
The verbage above suggests that writing off a fixed asset will decrease the value of earnings (by definition)
However, this can be debated in both ways (i.e. having no effect on the earnings and having an effect on the earnings)
Scenario A
Having no effect on earnings
If the asset that needs to be written off has depreciated to the extent where the accumulated depreciation equals to the original purchase price, writing off this asset will have no impact on the wealth of earning (accumulated depreciation and original purchase price acted in a contra fashion netting the balance to zero)
Scenario B
Having an effect on earnings
If the accumulated depreciation is less than the face value/or original purchase price. Writing off a fixed asset will lead a loss in earnings since the amount that was written off had a positive value (Writing off tied in cash invested in the asset)
Timing of the write off
Using scenario A the time frame of when a write off is done will have no significance since financials are not impacted.
In scenario B depending on how much is written off the accounting manager will have an incentive to write off the assets in the following year to avoid reporting a loss in earnings.
As his compensation is tied into earnings the manager will be hard pressed to report the write off in the next year (ethics comes into play)
Reporting in the current year will result in low earnings and subsequently low compensation package
Reporting the write off in the next year might allow the manager to re-capture the loss through cost reduction initiatives throughout the year.

Am I off the mark???

Einstein once said, 'The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.'

It is the poor who habitually elect Democrats---yet they are still POOR

"You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence. You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves."

Abraham Lincoln

...................and Mr. Obama, you are no Abe Lincoln
And as expected all the Democrat replies are 100%wrong .But it is fun to watch them try to spin out of this .One of them stated the top 10 richest cities where Democrats. You might want to do a little research on that one ! Then again you probably think Obama is doing a good job so your input has no creditability.
Good guy your answer would have Abe turning over in his grave. The truth is if Abe where alive today he would be totally disgusted about what the Democrats have done to are country!

Again with my troublesome boy. -.-

My boyfriend of less than a month is already proving to be a bit of a liability. Today, for instance, I had a goodbye lunch with a bunch of our friends cuz I'm traveling for the rest of summer. He said he didn't know if he'd be able to make it, and he didn't, because was ASLEEP. From playing too much on his PS3 last night.

I acted kind of playfully mad on IM but he didn't seem to even realize I was upset. Every time we go out it's me who has to call him because he's just not used to taking initiative. He's shy to the extreme, he's told me, but this is bordering on ridiculous. Most of the time he doesn't know how to be boyfriend-ly and it wears me out and makes me question what the hell is going on.

Does he like me? Does he not? Is he too afraid to say so to my face?

I'm certain he likes me and wants to be with me, but I think we both have a different definition of 'dating'. I want to see him, I want to go out, etc, and it's not like that for him. We won't see each other for over two weeks, which is why him coming today would've been important.

I just don't know what to do. Suggestions?

I asked this person what they would do if they were invisible and this is their response:

"why should invisibility be of any consequence to my actions if you question is based on the assumption that i do or don't do certain things because of the consequences and out of fear of those and that to exact my will i would need a mask or veil covering me or your invisibility and so i say to you sir i do and dont not out of fear of consequences but because it is my will to do or not to do so in short i do what ever i want but then one might pose the question ah but if you truly did that you would get in to all kinds of trouble to which i would reply this would be true if i didn't take the initiative in aligning my will with the accepted standards of a functional society you see by seemingly going with the flow you can maintain control of it make thine masters will thy own and thou shalt be slave to none and let me pose another question by what definition do you consider your self evolved is it because your thumbs appose your other fingers or perhaps because you no longer find it necessary to fling excrement at passers by or perhaps it is because you can let your will be subject to the rules and bylaws handed to you but then i say neigh it is he who can let his will be done regardless of the rules who is truly evolved for only then do you live as a being and not a pawn of some other mans will"

it just makes me feel dumb..
is he insulting me?

Given the amount of money and man hours that both sides of the gay marriage debate are putting into their particular campaign over the simple definition of a word as codified in the secular legal code, is this effectively limiting the religious right's ability to wage other social restriction campaigns? Are there currently proposed initiatives to further curtail civil rights along religious lines (not including the abortion issue)?
I know full well what the President thinks, and I actually agree with him :) Why don't you try not making too many assumptions.

a) "only adverse variances are worth invesgating because favourable variances by definition, must be good"

In the United States, boys' sports teams in colleges have been shut down in order to maintain gender parity with the amount of women who enter sports on campus through Title IX gender equality policy. [43] Young ladies at some campuses have shown solidarity against the ostrasization of boys by creating videos to bring attention to the issue.[44] The Obama administration is investigating the implementation of forced gender parity through Title IX to science, technical and engineering departments in colleges as well. Some organizations have expressed concern to the further denigration for opportunities for boys

In the United States it is a popular and lawful conception that men are not meant to have a parental role with their children and as such custody of children in divorce is often rewarded to the mother. He is usually unqualified psychologically and emotionally

The United States has created the Cabinet Level advisory Council of Women and Girls to oversee all governmental policy and functions of all Cabinet Level offices as to how they affect the needs of women and girls. There is no such high level council for men or boys. Excerpt from a lobbying letter by N.O.W: "This Office on Women should seek new ways to foster the full potential of tens of millions of women and girls of all races and from all walks of life -- through policies, budgeting, inter-agency coordination and special initiatives

The U.S. Center for Disease Control in conjunction with the American Psychiatric Association found that of heterosexual relationships involving violence, 50.3% involve non-reciprocal violence, and of that 50.3%, women were the instigators 70.7% of the time, although "physical injury was more likely to occur when the violence was reciprocal."[53] Men have no laws such as VAWA or Violence Against Women Act that afford them equal protection under law. Linda Kelly states in her thesis, DISABUSING THE DEFINITION OF DOMESTIC ABUSE: HOW WOMEN BATTER MEN AND THE ROLE OF THE FEMINIST STATE in the Florida State University Law Review that domestic violence is equally the province of women.[54]
Mandatory Military Service
Many countries around the world make it mandatory for males to join the military, but not females. Men at 18 years of age in the United States are required to register for military conscription to be drafted to war or military service. Women are not required to register with the Selective Service System and have no obligation to serve in the military in the case of a draft.

Definitions to help you with answer:

SOCIALISM: An economic and political system in which private property is abolished and the means of production (i.e., capital and land) are collectively owned and operated by the community as a whole in order to advance the interests of all. In Marxist ideology, socialism is considered an intermediate stage in the inevitable transformation of capitalism into communism. A socialist society is envisioned as being characterized by the dictatorship of the proletariat; the existence of a high degree of cooperation and equality; and the absence of discrimination, poverty, exploitation, and war. With the non-existence of private ownership, the private profit motive is eliminated from economic life. Consequently, market forces do not play a role in organizing the process of production. Instead, large-scale government planning is employed to ensure the harmonious operation of the process of production.

CAPITALISM: A socio-economic system characterized by private initiative and the private ownership of factors of production. In such a system individuals have the right to own and use wealth to earn income and to sell and purchase labor for wages. Furthermore, capitalism is predicated on a relative absence of governmental control of the economy. The function of regulating the economy is achieved largely through the operation of market forces, whereby the price mechanism acts as a signalling system which determines the allocation of resources and their uses.

I prefer capitalism.
Thanks for the answers - no one stated which system was in place where they lived....or should it be intuitively obvious?...

IS it possible to accurately define Dharma?

Any reasonable answers are welcomed. From anyone.

Thank you.

Such as : Electing a Democrat for President and expecting real long term positive change.

Does this sound like what a liberal democrat wants to do?
Einstein said the 1st one.
Abraham Lincoln said the 2ND one.

According to St. Paul, "all authority is from God," and so early Christians prayed even for the Roman government that often oppressed them.

But given that wars, diplomatic initiatives and economic policies all are devised by ordinary human beings -- human beings who by religious definition are greedy, overly ambitious, prone to anger and otherwise imperfect -- is it realistic to think that US foreign policy (or the policy of any other nation) can be counted on to do God's work in the world?

That the Bible Speaks of...
If you dismiss what the Bible speaks of as Sexual Morality you just have to read the Song of Songs in the Bible to see GOD gave the pleasure of sex between a Man and a Woman to enjoy and, love one another in a commited relationship that brings fourth generations of families to inhabit the world he gave us.

Every year, almost 50,000 girls and growing under 18 fall pregnant, leading critics to claim that government-led efforts to encourage safer sex are backfiring. The number who conceive is at its highest level since a multi-million-pound teenage pregnancy crackdown almost a decade ago.
As a result, Britain tops the league table of teenage mothers in western Europe, despite also having a record number of school-age abortions.

Here are some interesting details on the "stimulus" package. If you would not mind forwarding this along to your friends, family, and contacts, it would be greatly
appreciated. The more info Americans have on this bill, the only thing stimulated will be anger and outrage, because none of this stimulates the economy or creates Jobs.
* The interest payments alone on the stimulus would cost $350 billion over
the next ten years, which means the next generation will have to pay the bills.
* The bill contains nothing in it that would stimulate the economy, but its only
a down-payment on big government spending. In reality, it's a welfare proposal.
Wasteful Spending Provisions
* $2 billion earmark to re-start FutureGen, a near-zero emissions coal power
plant in Illinois that the Dept. of Energy defunded last year because the project was inefficient
* $650 million for the digital television (DTV) converter box coupon program
* $88 million for the Coast Guard to design a new polar icebreaker (arctic ship)
* $448 million for constructing the Dept. of Homeland Security headquarters
* $248 million for furniture at the new Dept. of Homeland Security headquarters
* $600 million to buy hybrid vehicles for federal employees
* $400 million for the CDC to screen and prevent STD's
* $1.4 billion for a rural waste disposal programs
* $125 million for the Washington , D.C. sewer system
* $150 million for Smithsonian museum facilities
* $1 billion for the 2010 Census, which has a projected cost overrun of $3 billion
* $75 million for "smoking cessation activities"
* $200 million for public computer centers at community colleges

thus pushing private capital toward unproductive businesses and away
from productive businesses.
* Increases the definition of "youth" for certain summer job
programs from age 21 to age 24.

* $160 million to the Job Corps program at the Dept. of Labor, but

I am an atheist and find that Mormon marriage, conservative Christian marriage, and all the others who supported Prop 8 who get married goes against my definition of what a marriage should be. I am part of a large group who could possible get enough signatures to at least present the legislature to ban religious marriage. You see, religious marriage is recognized by county, state, and federal authorities. They get tax breaks and various "special rights" afforded only if they are married. I find that their religious marriage goes against my secular marriage. Their marriage is, from this atheist' point of view, immoral and an affront to my atheistic marriage.

So, since religious people can use their influence and beliefs to prevent an entire segment of society from marrying in a manner recognized by the state, why can't I do the same to them?

please!

A famous Greek philosopher known as Aristotle once said, “If liberty and equality, as is thought by some, are chiefly to be found in democracy, they will be best attained when all persons alike share in government to the utmost;” if a nation is to obtain true liberty among its people, the state as a whole must relinquish any predisposed positions on idea, initiative, and philosophy, or otherwise succumb to inequalities amongst the freedom of various peoples. Religion is well defined as a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, which adheres to the definition of a philosophy, and so if a nation is to obtain true liberty among its people, religion must be well respected, free from bias and prejudice. The separation of church and state is and always has been a vital part of the United States’ core; in order to promote civil equality and peace, the government must do its best to completely separate religion and politics, both with its conscious and subliminal correlations.

The United States was founded on July 4th, 1776 with the preconceived idea of the separation of church and state. Thomas Jefferson, one of the cofounders of the U.S., has made it clear what this partition entails: “All persons shall have full and free liberty of religious opinion; nor shall any be compelled to frequent or maintain any religious institution.” There is no argument as to whether or not we should abide by the forefather’s ideals; citizens, being relatives of the country, should honor and respect the ancestral beliefs. The only rejoinder to this principle is the open literal interpretation of Jefferson’s idea. The word compel, which most nearly means to persuade or encourage, was used by Thomas Jefferson to show that no person of the country should be pushed or encouraged towards a certain denomination of religion, and certainly not be squandered of fair opportunities at political power due to one’s own personal belief and morals.

Over the course of the United States’ history, people of certain religions have been harassed, treated unfairly, and even killed. One recent example of this is when the 41st president of the U.S., G George Herbert Walker Bush, responded, “No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God,” to the question of whether or not atheists should have an equal chance at citizenship. Bush’s statement goes directly against the separation of church and state. Someone who is so quick to say those words is sure to hold a conscious or unconscious bias on religion. Another classic example of the government abusing its power over religion is when Jim Mosser, a Marine Corps veteran and practitioner of the Wiccan faith, died, but the military refused to put a long excluded Wiccan emblem on the tombstone, whereas if Mosser were Christian, the military would have given a list of several crosses to choose from. After ten years of fighting in court, Mosser’s widow successfully sued the military and had the Wiccan emblem carved into Jim’s gravestone. Mosser’s widow spent ten whole years struggling through the agonizing process; life is too short to have to fight with the ignorance of injustice.

There has only been one time in the history of the United States where the country was so divided that it could be cut into two separate parts; this was during the civil war. The American civil war lasted four years, from 1861 to 1865, and resulted in over six hundred thousand casualties. The entire war was based on the question of whether or not African Americans should have equal rights with Caucasian Americans. The war initially erupted because of the predisplaced division between the slave and slave-free states. This division can still be seen in the United States today, not just with views on racism, but moreso with views on religion.

Or will they white wash it! Like they do, and did Nixon's, or Regan's Administration. Two Republican criminals, if there ever was a definition of one. These two guys have done things to this country, that we are still paying fo, in the 21st century. And dumb ASSS Ronald Regan fired 20 traffic controllers, spent billions on war toys that either didn't work, or impossible to conceive, such as the star wars initiative. And not to mention, increasing the deficit by billions of dollars, and training ben Laden, and alquita, coupled with oliver north; the criminal general! Prop 8
11-19) 18:32 PST SAN FRANCISCO -- The state Supreme Court plunged back into the same-sex marriage wars Wednesday, agreeing to decide the legality of a ballot measure that repealed the right of gay and lesbian couples to wed in California
Six months after its momentous ruling that struck down the state's ban on same-sex marriage, the court granted requests by both sponsors and opponents of Proposition 8 to review lawsuits challenging the Nov. 4 initiative.

The vote was 6-1, Justice Joyce Kennard dissenting.

However, the court refused, 6-1, to let same-sex marriages resume while it considers Prop. 8's constitutionality. Justice Carlos Moreno cast the dissenting vote.

Approved by 52 percent of voters, Prop. 8 restored the definition of marriage - a union of a man and a woman - that the court had overturned May 15. Kennard and Moreno voted with the majority in that 4-3 ruling.

The court agreed Wednesday to review two arguments by opponents of Prop. 8: that the measure exceeds the legal scope of a ballot initiative by allowing a majority to restrict a minority group's rights, and that it violates the constitutional separation of powers by limiting judicial authority.

The justices also asked for arguments on whether Prop. 8, if constitutional, would nullify 18,000 same-sex weddings performed between when the court's marriage ruling took effect in mid-June and Nov. 4. Attorney General Jerry Brown, who will defend Prop. 8 as the state's chief lawyer, contends those marriages are legal, but sponsors of the initiative disagree.

The justices asked for written arguments to be submitted through Jan. 21. The court could hold a hearing as early as March, and a ruling would be due 90 days later.

too hard? how can girls tell when a guy is trying too hard to get a girlfriend or someone to date? how can girls sense it? I don't know if I am trying too hard or not, but I am not gonna give up on looking for the right girl, I am not gonna stop approaching them or talking to them, or asking for their number, because the guy, or male, has to take the initiative in the dating/relationship world, he has to ask the girl out, he has to initiate most of the conversations, he has to initiate getting to know her, etc. Basically the male has to initiate the first date, first kiss, and start the relationship. I am 20, going to be 21 next year, and I have been single my entire life, my main problem is that, for almost 2 years now, every girl that I have approached and talked to or was interested in had a boyfriend already. Rejection is not so much my problem, it just that that every girl I always run into has a boyfriend already. Anyway, even if I am trying too hard to get a girlfriend, I don't feel there is much I can do about that because I am just being myself, and also I learned that getting rejected is normal, getting rejected is a learning experience, so I have decided that I am just going to keep getting rejected and rejected over and over again until I find the right single girl, because if a guy stops looking for a girlfriend, it will hurt his chances a lot more than if a girl stops looking for a boyfriend, because us guys usually have to take the initiative and make the first move. So what is trying too hard?
How can girls tell when a guy is trying too hard? give me examples of when a guy is trying too hard? How can I not try so hard to get a girlfriend? How should my body language be like?
please, I want all the best advice, I am tired of being single.

My new job requires working with a control freak, who is by definition my peer. However, she does not act like it. She is an overachiever in the areas at which she knows a lot about but shirks any talk of her areas of weakness. Which coincidentally are my strong areas. Another part of her "disease" is to volunteer to be a part of every single initiative and usually takes over. I, unfortunately, have the job of repairing the damage she makes with our peers.

The part of the problem that I would like to address is that I get intimidated and tongue tied when she starts spouting out buzzwords. She has a lot of people fooled by that trick. I need some comebacks that are professional yet can slow her down from stealing the stage at every meeting. Or maybe if you have some other ways to deal with a bossy, controlish, micromanaging peer. Remember, she is a peer but acts like she is my keeper.
Funny! She does things to get them done but they are not well thought out...couple that with her lack of social graces and my job is now fixing all her errors. How do I stop a rolling boulder before it crashes?

They tell me I'm a Bad American.....BECAUSE:

I like big bikes, big trucks, big boats, big houses, and naturally, pretty women.

I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some mid-level governmental functionary with a bad comb-over who wants to give it away to some crack addict squirting out babies. I don't care about appearing compassionate.

I don't think playing with toy guns makes kids killers - I believe ignoring your kids and giving them Prozac might.

I think I'm doing better than the homeless.

I don't think being a minority makes you noble or victimized. I have the right not to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird or make me mad. This is my life to live, and not necessarily up to others expectations.

I know what SEX is and there are not varying degrees of it.

I don't celebrate Kwanzaa. But if you want to that's fine; I just don't feel like everyone else should have to.

My uncles and forefathers shouldn't have had to die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come disrespect ours, and make us bend to your will. Get over it.

I believe that if you are selling me a Dairy Queen shake, a pack of cigarettes, or hotel room you do it in English. As of matter of fact, if you are an American citizen you should speak English.

I think the cops have every right to shoot your sorry ass if you're running from them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word 'freeze' or 'stop' in English, see the previous line.

I don't use the excuse "it's for the children" as a shield for unpopular opinions or actions.

I know how to count votes and I feel much safer letting a machine with no political affiliation do a recount when needed. I know what the definition of lying is, and it isn't based on the word "is"-- ever.

I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you qualify for any special loan programs, Gov't sponsored bank loans, etc., so you can open a hotel, 7-Eleven, trinket shop, or anything else, while the indigenous peoples can't get past a high school education because they can't afford it.

I didn't take the initiative in inventing the Internet.

I thought the Taco Bell dog was funny.

I want them to bring back safe and sane fireworks.

I believe no one ever died because of something Ozzy Osbourne, Ice-T or Marilyn Manson sang, but that doesn't mean I want to listen to that crap from someone else's car when I'm stopped at a red light. But I respect your right to.

I don't want to eat or drink anything with the words light, lite or fat-free on the package.

Our soldiers did not go to some foreign country and risk their lives in vain and defend our Constitution so that decades later you can tell me it's a living document ever changing and is open to interpretation. The guys who wrote it were light years ahead of anyone today, and they meant what they said -- now leave the document alone, or there's going to be trouble.

I don't hate the rich.

I help the poor.

I know wrestling is fake.

I've never owned, or was a slave, and a large percentage of our forefathers weren't wealthy enough to own one either. Please stop blaming me because some prior white people were idiots -- and remember, tons of white, Indian, Chinese, and other races have been enslaved too -- it was wrong for every one of them.

I believe a self-righteous liberal with a cause is much more dangerous than a Hell's Angel with an attitude.

I want to know exactly which church is it where the "Reverend" Jessie Jackson preaches; and what exactly is his job function.

I own a gun, you can own a gun, and any red blooded American should be allowed to own a gun, but if you use it in a crime, then you will serve the time.

I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it makes you mad, then invent the next operating system that's better and put your name on the building.

I don't believe in hate crime legislation. Even suggesting it makes me mad. You're telling me that someone who is a minority, gay, disabled, another nationality, or otherwise different from the mainstream of this country has more value as a human being than I do as a white male. If someone kills anyone, I'd say that it's a hate crime. We don't need more laws! Let's enforce the ones we already have.

I think turkey bacon, turkey beef, turkey fake anything sucks.

I believe that it doesn't take a village to raise a child -- it takes a parent with the guts to stand up to the kid and spank his butt and say "NO!" when it's necessary to do so.

I'll admit that the only movie that ever made me cry was Ole Yeller.

I didn't realize Dr. Seuss was a genius until I had a kid.

I will not be frowned upon or be looked down upon or be made to keep silent because I have these beliefs and opinions. I thought this country allowed me that right.

I will not conform or compromise just to keep fr

desperate? It's like so hypocritical, us guys are doing our job by taking the initiative to get to know you, we usually have to make the first move and take the lead in order to start a friendship with a girl and then later a relationship. Yes, I know you girls and people are going to say that it is usually up to guy to get a girlfriend, and for the girl to choose whether she wants to be with him or not, and that in order to do that just don't be desperate and approach and start talking to girls by making it not look random or creepy, well there is just one problem: I DON'T KNOW HOW TO APPROACH AND NOT APPEAR DESPERATE, I DON'T KNOW HOW TO NOT APPEAR CREEPY OR DESPERATE, I DON'T KNOW HOW TO APPROACH A GIRL WITHOUT MAKING IT LOOK RANDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I know all I have to do is just be myself, well I am always myself, I never tell lies to the girl, I never tell girls stuff that are not true about me, I never try to act like somebody else. Seriously, do you think Asperger Syndrome makes guys appear desperate and approach girls in a desperate, creepy, or random manner eventhough they don't mean to? Well I am guessing this why I have a problem getting a girlfriend and getting into the dating scene, because when I approach girls, I appear and sound desperate, creepy, or random. I could be wrong, but how can I tell if I am being desperate? what is the definition of being desperate? give me examples of all kinds when a guy approaches a girl in a desperate or random way, I want to undo these problems.
I swear to God that I am always myself, I never try to act like and be anybody else, but seriously, how do you not act desperate?
even if I do sound desperate, I have a good reason to, I turn 21 next year and I still have never had a girlfriend or had any relationship with a girl, whether if it was short-term, long-term, serious or non-serious, and this really bothers me. I have wanted a girlfriend for the longest time I already, it's just girls never give me a chance.

and what can the guy do to you that will show you he is not desperate. Yes, I am aware of some of the things that show's a girl that a guy is desperate, one of them is calling and texting them a lot, and what else? Basically, how do you want guys to take the initiative to get to know you and later ask you out in a non-desperate way?
I want serious answers please!!!!, how do you prefer guys to approach you and get to know you in a non-desperate and non-clingy approach?

This question is prompted by various quality standards and quality initiatives in the '90's.

It all seemed to be a lucky dip, or pot lock, whether I was going to actually get any quality.

A quality standard usually does not provide enough of a definition of this "quality" it talks about.

Is there any more authoritative arbiter of quality than the "definitions of quality on the Web", which Google gives us if we simply type into the Google search bar ?
To Y,
Thanks. Terrific Info.

quality ?

If we type into Google,
it responds with and then answers its own question, by merely stating existing definitions of quality on the Web.

Won't "quality initiative" be unlikely to meet all the seemingly relevant criteria noted in the seemingly relevant portions of Google's take of the existing definitions of quality on the Web ?

So won't a "quality initiative" quite likely have made a safety-critical system unsafe, considered against the seemingly relevant existing definitions of quality on the Web.

So won't much of the effort at adding quality in the '70s '80s '90s have been in vain ?
Won't much effort in the '70s '80s '90s look retrospectively as tinkering, that caused some of the parameters or measures of quality to go haywire ?
No.
The info from the Google search is terrific.
I realised after I posted that
wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn was doing the work.

Far from not being good, I meant that you get better value from a web search engine than from a supposedly useful "quality standard".

getting better reception with a $3, 75 ohm antenna unamplified; in fact i have a $5 75 - 300 piece to make it work with the television. works like a charm getting stations i never could get with that amplified antenna i want my $50 back!

another thing, how many of us are really going to buy those converter boxes, lol. i got 2 coupons but i don't know because the television hasn't seen any action whatsoever now they i have my lcd. you know you want that cheap analog in case someone comes to visit, but there's no real initiative to get one, other than analog tvs are still like $20 at the pawn shop.

Why is is that the people in Kansas are enthusiastic and had initiative to rebuild there homes and towns, but the people in New Orleans complained about how no was "helping" them (my definition of helping thme is---no one would hand over a two story house with a picket fence) and thats all they wanted was their debit card. Then they left. A lot of companies and people went down there to help these people rebuild, but them themselves where the ones who didn't care.

I am a BAD American.

I like big cars, big guns, and big tits. I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some mid-level governmental functionary with a bad comb-over who wants to give it away to crack addicts squeezing out babies.

I don't think playing with guns makes you a killer. I don't think being a minority makes you noble or victimized. I don't care if you call me a racist, a homophobe or a misogynist. I know that no matter how big Jennifer Lopez's ass gets, I'll still want to see it.

I believe that if you are selling me a Big Mac in America, you do it in English. I don't use the excuse "it's for the children" as a shield for unpopular opinions or actions. I want to know when MTV became such crap.

I know what the definition of "is" is. I didn't take the initiative in inventing the Internet. I want them to bring back safe and sane fireworks.

I believe no one ever died because of something Ozzy Osborne, Ice-T or Marilyn Manson sang. I think that being an art student doesn't give you any more insight than working at Blockbuster. I don't want to eat or drink anything with the words light, lite or fat-free on the package.

I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God or gods, and they can do it in their schools. I think the WNBA is cool, as is the US Womens' Soccer Team - because they kick ass. My heroes are John Wayne, Winston Churchill, Ronald Reagan, Norman Schwartzkopf, Colin Powell and whoever canceled "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman".

I think creative violence and useless nudity and sex makes Iraqis deader and movies more interesting.

I don't hate the rich. I don't pity the poor. I think global warming is Chicken Little junk science.

I've never owned or was a slave, I didn't wander forty years in the desert after getting chased out of Egypt. I haven't burned any witches or been persecuted by the Turks and neither have you, so shut-the-hell-up already.

Rocky and Bullwinkle still makes me laugh. I think you can respect and admire women while mentally undressing them. I believe a self-righteous liberal with a cause is more dangerous than a 6 year old with a Play Station.

I want to know exactly which church it is where the Rev. Jesse Jackson preaches.

I think explosions are cool. I don't care where Ellen DeGeneres puts her tongue. I think the cops have every right to shoot your sorry ass if you're running from them. I thought Spinal Tap was great, but Rob Reiner can still kiss my ass.

I worry about dying before I get even.

I like the convenience of buying oranges while I'm waiting at a stoplight, and I'm pretty sure the Latina girl selling them to me is glad she no longer lives in a refrigerator packing carton outside Ensenada.

I figured out Bruce Willis was dead midway through The Sixth Sense but enjoyed it anyway.

I think turkey bacon sucks.

I want somebody to explain to me exactly why it's wrong to point out that when I watch a freeway chase, I know the losers the police eventually pull out of the car are not gonna be honor roll middle-class high school kids but gang-banging losers from the wrong side of town.

I believe that it doesn't take a village to raise a child, it takes a parent with a firm voice and a firmer hand. I think tattoos and piercings are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a political statement and not a fad. I like hard women, hard liquor and a hard bowel movement first thing in the morning, and don't even think about asking me if I want a rice cake.

I believe you don't have to speak with a lisp to pick out a couch for your living room.

I'll admit that the only movies that ever made me cry was "Sands of Iwo Jima" and "Ole Yeller". I didn't realize Dr. Seuss was a genius until I had a kid.

I will not conform or compromise just to keep from hurting somebody's feelings.

I'm neither angry nor disenfranchised, no matter how desperately the mainstream media would like the world to believe otherwise.

YES, I am a BAD American.

I tried with Babelfish and Altavista, but then a strange smoke of burnt stuff and smoke behind my screen ?????
Three words in particular I find difficult :

- "la"
- "constitution"
- "République"
Does art.9 refer to hopping Sarkozy ?

According to muslims belief,Jesus was a messenger of God and a muslim...and its even mentioned in the bible.Jesus says in the bible "I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me"(John 5:30-32)....anyone who submits his will to Almighty God,and says not my will but God's will, is a muslim(The definition of a Muslim: A person who submits his will to Almighty God).the above mentioned verse is a proof from the bible that jesus was a muslim...now if the "todays christians" want to follow Christ, they'l automatically be Muslims but if they will follow Paul and other people then surely they shud not cal themselves as christians...Todays Chrisatians should say we r following Paulinity, not christianity, because one who will follow Christ will automatically be a Muslim....(Sorry if i have hurt anyones feelings).
